About This Website
When redesigning this website, we wanted a mechanically retro look and feel with a minimalistic approach and interface.
The site design was created using Abode Photoshop in the Creative Suite 5. Once the design was complete we converted it to HTML and CSS using Photoshop to slice the images and taking site speed and efficiency into consideration.
The website template was then incorporated into a custom CMS created on top of a Zend Framework Application. This allows for easy updating, expandability and customization using an exceptional library created by the people who develop the PHP programming language.
There is only minor Javascript usage at this time, which is carried out using the jQuery Javascript library. jQuery allows for fast and powerful Javascript development and is an industry standard.
The site is hosted on Echo Web Dynamics Virtual Dedicated server running Apache web server on a Fedora Linux operating system. We incorporate server side caching to speed up the serving of resources and minimize server overhead.
